To install EZDetach, download and run the installer. Be sure to close Outlook during installation. The installer requires administrator permissions. Once installed, EZDetach can be used under regular user accounts.
After running the Installer, restart Outlook and you should see the EZDetach button on the Home tab of the Ribbon in Outlook 2010 or on the main Outlook toolbar in older versions of Outlook.
The default installer provided on the download page is an EXE installer. MSI installer is available upon request (to sites with over 20 seats). We recommend that you use the EXE installer unless you have a special reason to use MSI. For example, system administrators performing large-scale deployment might choose to use the MSI installer for automated deployment.
The EXE installer supports silent installation as well.
To install a new version of EZDetach, follow the same steps as you did when you originally installed it. There is no need to uninstall the previous version prior to installation.
Important
Upgrading without uninstalling works only for the same type of installer: EXE to EXE or MSI to MSI. If you need to change to a different installer type, you have to uninstall first.
Tip
You can use the Check for Updates command to check if there is a new version available. That command is located under:
If you have a new computer and would like to start using EZDetach on it and discontinue using EZDetach on the old computer, you can do so without purchasing a new license.
Tip
When you purchase a license, be sure to save the email with your license key, so you can reinstall the product in the future.
Note
If you have a new computer and would like to use EZDetach on both the new and the old computers, you need to purchase a new license and install it on the new computer.
For large installations, it is not practical to walk around in order to install software and enter license key on every workstation. We provide a way for system administrators to centrally install and manage EZDetach. This approach starts making sense for sites over 20 users and scales up very well. We have customers that manage installations for thousands of users. Please contact us for details.
You can uninstall EZDetach using the Windows Control Panel, just like any other Windows Application.
