Quick Start Guide¶
Thank you for installing SimplyTag!¶
If this is your first time, please read on for a few tips on getting started.
If you have any questions at all about the best way to use the product to accomplish your goals, do get in touch with us. No question is too small!
Configuring SimplyTag¶
Step 1 - Restart Outlook to see the SimplyTag buttons on the Ribbon Home tab of the main Outlook window.
Tip
If you do not see SimplyTag buttons after you run the installer and restart Outlook, first make sure Outlook’s Ribbon is fully expanded. If that does not help, try the suggestions in this FAQ or this FAQ.
Step 2 - Configure your categories if you have not already done so.
If you have already configured Categories using Outlook built-in Category functionality, SimplyTag will use them. If not, use the Manage Categories And Actions Window (located under SimplyTag drop-down) to create the Categories you will use to tag your messages.
Step 3 - That is all you need to get started. Start using SimplyTag and see how easy it makes organizing and managing your email.
Using SimplyTag¶
After you have configured your categories, using SimplyTag is very easy. SimplyTag will show the most likely suggested category on the One-Click-Tag Button. Click that button to apply the suggested category. Alternatively, you can use the Tag With Drop Down or the QuickTag Window to apply other categories.

Other features you might want to configure¶
- Keyboard hotkeys. If you prefer to navigate primarily using the keyboard, configure hotkeys for efficient keyboard-only operation without touching the mouse.
- UI buttons. Decide which commands are shown on the SimplyTag ribbon area. Some of the features or not shown by default.
